HELLO, I'M
Amelia Golcheski
historian, public humanist, and mountain hugger
About
MY BACKGROUND
As a historian, I'm dedicated to listening to and telling stories. My research examines women, caregiving labor, and labor movements in Appalachia during the 20th century. I'm interested in the role of historical memory in shaping contemporary Appalachian and labor history.
At my core, I am passionate about the possibilities of history as a tool to strengthen communities.

Prior to coming to Emory, I completed a Master's in Public Humanities at Brown University. While at Brown, I co-created a podcast and sharpened my digital humanities skills through coursework and various curatorial projects. Outside of graduate school, I have worked in several museums and non-profits doing education, public programming, and curatorial work.
